I recently moved into an apartment and got comcast highspeed internet installed. Everything works fine for my main computer which is hooked up directly to the modem but my laptop keeps losing its wireless connection every few minutes. It says it has an excellent connection but it still loses its connection. Once I repair it tho it works fine again. Can someone please tell me why it keeps doing this? thanks.

Are you using Netgear? If so, it sucks. Sorry.
Had the same problem with Comcast equipment.
If you're using Windows to connect to your wifi disable the option. Use the proprietary software given to connect only.
They sometimes conflict and one tries to boss the other around and they both give up. But you don't give up.
Network Connections from Control Panel %26gt; Choose the Wifi connection and right mouse click to properties. The tab to disable it should be presented.
I wouldn't suggest buying a new router and equipment before you've exhausted all options or you just don't want the equipment.

cause wireless is not what it is cracked up to be!
Maybe you just need a repeater to boost the signal.
it's prbably the company wireless or is your laptop
because it's comcastic...
It could be that it's set on the wrong wireless channel. When speaking to my ISP about another issue, they realised this and when they set it to the optimal channel, the signal got MUCH better. Call your ISP so they can help determine the optimal settings. In many cases, wireless connections need a bit of fine tuning.
you didn't mention that you have a wireless router.
