My 2000 Honda Civic Check Engine Light is on. I took it to Auto Zone and the guy said that the computer shows "Emissions Code". What does that mean? What can I do to repair the problem myself?

it usually means the oxygen sensor is fouled or the mass air flow is fouled. there is a mass air flow cleaner like carb cleaner that is cheap so try that first then if you climb under the car and look at the exhaust pipe you will see a spark plug looking thing and that is the o2 sensor

Try checking PCV Valve, EGR, and O2 sensor in this order.
It's easier to check and cheaper to replace.
has something to do with cattilic converter/muffler pipes, they may be clogged, easily can be fixed
