Starting a home based computer business?

Hi. I'm 17 years old and I'd say I'm pretty good with computers. I can build one, fix one, repair one, etc. I also have my A+ certification. I want to start my own computer based business. I can drive. I'm only weary of one thing.

Since I'm 17, you never know whose house you're going to. I'm really skinny, there's still a probability of me walking into someones house where I can get robbed, maybe even molested, who knows? What kind of advice do you have for me to deal with dangers like these?

Starting any business even small is the hardest part. Letting people in need of a good computer technician will also take time and the best way to do it is by word of mouth, "REFERRALS"

There are also some considerations that you should think.

1. Can you convert your garage into a business area, are there NO RESTRICTIONS in doing this. As I will not advise you to go on house calls as you have said there are the dangers.

2. Presuming you can establish a permit and convert your garage into a working space. Then you can start contacting your friends and neighbors of your intention of going into the business. Also remember, I suggested the garage as this area is visible to your neighborhood so untoward robbers will be eliminated.

3. Put posters in public places announcing your services. Supermarkets, groceries, churches, schools and so forth.
