Repair illegal operation, RUNDLL caused a general protection fault?

repair RUNDLL problem. every time I turn on my computer this message appears at my desktop.. RUNDLL caused a general protection fault in module MMSYSTEM.DLL at oooa:00000032.Registers: ....then lots of number/ codes. What can I do. to repair this? W98

There could be many issues that is causing that error to occur. You could try these steps to see if it will solve the problem if mmsystem.dll is missing in your the windows system.ini file.



Steps:



Click Start %26gt; Run %26gt; then Type notepad.exe



(or run any text editor that you use)



Open the file C:\windows\system.ini



Scroll-down the file, find the [boot] section.



Now add this:



drivers=mmsystem.dll



Save the file, then restart your computer

W98 or W98SE?



run.dll is merely a wrapper for running another function.



Without knowing what is causing the error, it's hard to troubleshoot.



remove everything from your startup menu then add them back 1 at a time until the error pops up, then you'll know what device or driver is causing the error.
