My computer will not shut down if someone else is logged down. Even when i prompt it to shut down, there is a message that reads that others are logged on.... i check the box to shut down anyway and all it does is takes the icons off my desktop but will not fully shutdown where i have to shut it down manually. I did 2 registry repairs prior to that it may have something to do with it but i dont know. either way it wont restore it back to the way it was because the registry repair tool only restores back to the way it was after the last registry repair was done. can someone help me please. will system restore work ? I have xp professional thank you.
My computer wont shut down if someone else is logged on unless i log them off.?virus protection software
u can either tell the other person who is logged on to log on after u have logged off and then turn off the computer or just turn it off and if that person had any important work in progress then sucks for them. good luck =)
My computer wont shut down if someone else is logged on unless i log them off.?adware
That how it always has been, that person must be logged off, in order to shut down, no way around it.
It sounds like there is more going on then someone using a profile. When a computer does not shutdown properly it screams spyware. I would go to
START%26gt;RUN%26gt; type 'msconfig'. Go to the tab of startup
From here you can enable or disable programs that run when your computer boots up. You can see suspicious stuff. I would disable everything I can. All updaters are uneccesary etc. Then restart and keep trying to shutdown normally. This should take care of the problem unless its something more going on with your PC%26gt;
www.download.com ... you can get AVG antivirus. Also a really good free spyware for a month that actually detects and remove is Prevx. Find it at prevx.com
hope this helps
