alright, my parents computer was an old emachine , they didnt want to buy a new one so i told them i would replace the parts that were bad. The Power supply unit fried the motherboard before it went out. I turned it on after i replaced both and the computer starts up and goes threw the screens, when it gets to the option of how i would like to start it in safe or safe with network or safe with cmd or with last good know config. I tried all and they each just act like its going to work then less than a second later , it restarts itself and i get the same option. i googled the propblem and i saw one only one other person that had the same problem and they called microsoft and they said that the kernal32 file was corrupt and needed to insert a windows cd and repair. on that form, the guy said that didnt fix it. i want to keep my files on this computer so i was wondering if anyone out there knows how to fix this. is it the kernal32 file? can i just stick it as a slave in mine and pastemine
PSU fried Mobo and now after I replaced both, computer ask if i want to start it in safe mode or normally HELPproduct key
you need to reinstall Windows due to the HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) - if the hardware components change dramatically you will need to reinstall Windows
So, back up everything you want on another drive or computer, format, install Windows and you should be good to go
