The music I add to Itunes always hicups and has blips in the music. Why? How do I stop it?

Is it possible I need to slow down the rate that I load the files from my computer cd drive?

Also, is there software to repair blips in mp3 files?

Your CD drive sucks, you are running too many programs when you are ripping your music, your ripping program sucks, you are ripping too fast, your discs are dirty and/or scratched, or some combination of the above.

I use CDex for my ripping needs. It's free. Rip at a slower speed than the maximum (ie, try to rip at 16x or slower), use a good quality codec (for mp3s i use lame, and rip at least 128 kbps) and enable the "paranoia" and "force stereo" options (better sound quality, less skips).

Shut down unessential programs when you rip (ie, AIM, Google Desktop, etc). Don't rip music while you're gaming. If your machine is slow, don't do *anything* while you're ripping.

Make sure your CDs are reasonably clean.

Finally, I don't know off the top of my head of a program that will fix mp3 files. I've never needed to use it. Sorry.
