A lady brought a computer to us to be given an estimate for repairs, we had the estimate for her the same day and gave it to her in writing.
At the beginning of May, she said she would wait until the 20th of this month to go ahead with the ordering of the parts and pay for everything.
She has not been to pay and she has not called. She hasn't even come and picked up her computer saying she changed her mind.
How long do I have to hold on to the computer for her?
I am in Wisconsin if that makes a difference.
Thanks all.

I watch Judge Judy and Judge Mathis everyday.
90 days is the usual before you can dispose of it. Send her a letter and keep a copy.
Did she leave a number where she can be reached? If she didn't then you have no way of contacting her.
I believe that if you have a sign stating that all property left for more than 30 days is considered abandoned and will become the property of "YOUR BUSINESS HERE" and the disposal of this property will be up to the discretion of "YOUR BUSINESS HERE".
If not, then I would wait another month and then charge her for a warehousing fee (surcharge)because it took space in your place of business for more than the amount of time she said it would be there and it was inconsiderate of her to think you would hold it for her indefinitely.
This link may be able to provide you with answers or you could contact your local chamber of commerce and/or small claims court and they could provide you with the information you need.
Is there a local university? You could always ask one of the business law professors if they could clarify what you should do.
Hope this helps!
Good luck to you
