My Lenovo laptop is only 1 year old and I have a two year warranty, so this is covered. BUT...I just don't want to ship my laptop off in the mail for two weeks for repair of what I think is a simple fix. I type heavier with my right thumb and so I think I have worn out the RIGHT side of my Space Bar because when I hit Space with my left thumb, it works O.K.
I am moderately competant at fixing electronic things and have repaired a keyboard on my desktop computer, but I have yet to disassemble a keyboard on a laptop and sense this is a more complex job. IF I can get in there, what would be the most likely repair needed? Replacing some bumper pad or spring? Perhaps soldering some electronic connection (and I don't have a solder gun at present). Perhaps replacing the entire keypad?
I'm looking for a fast and cheap fix. Sending it to Office Depot Warranty Dept. by mail just seems too long and laborious and I need my laptop for business reasons. Alternative suggestions?
How difficult is it to repair one key on a Lenovo laptop keypad?antispyware
Not very difficult. Just send it in to repair.
