gotta go with part of rockies answer. Converter might be clogged, gets hot and dies. Best way to find out is the remove an O2 sensor, that will allow the exhaust to breathe. see if it stays running then.

Its better than trying to pull the exhaust back.

Also, thats how you do a backpressure test, we pull the O2 and hook our gauge up to that hole. gives us our backpressure reading.

But try that.

Sounds like it's time to diagnose the problem instead of throwing parts on it. When it stops running: will it crank, is there spark, is there fuel pressure, is there injector pulse, any light on dash doing anything unusual, any codes stored, do you have a scan tool?
sounds more like your anti theft system is screwing up...
Hmm, I'm not sure if you mean your car has been stored for a while or not but... Cars that sit a long time are a good nesting spot for mice. They could have built a nest in the air box or the duct leading to the air cleaner. It happens. I had mice build a nest in the very back of my engine. They ate up a wire harness. Yes... chewed the wires in two. It's a possibility. Engines must have air to run. If the air is being blocked the engine will not run properly.

Often when a car runs for a bit and then quits it's air related. Have the catalytic converter checked at an exhaust shop. It could be plugged up. This will make a car stall. After sitting for a while, the car will start again. This car is just building up too much back pressure. Allowing this to go on can cause an intake gasket to fail. Have your Cat. Converter checked... It won't hurt. They do commonly get plugged up.

Air that goes in an engine must come out.
