Auto-repair network connection -Possible?

I leave my computer on for long periods of time and when I come back after a few hours, the network has "broken". I have to click on repair from the system tray to fix this. Is there a way to make the connection repair automatically if it brakes?

hi;

the problem may be a timeout with your router.

- check if there is idle timeout setting and change it to the max value allowed

- check your power management on your network card and disable it (start\control panel\system\hardware\device manager)

look for network adapters, power management tab;

do not allow the computer to suspend this device to save power - remove the check mark for that

The connection shouldn't break, although if Windows logs you off after a set amount of time or you have power saving options selected this can cause the problem you describe.

Right click on the desktop, select properties, then on the screen saver tab select power. From there you can change the power saving options, my Acer laptop has an option to turn the wireless off.

Hope this helps.
