I have a Hp Pavilion and it wont go past the blue screen?

I turn it on and sometimes it gets stuck on the Windows XP screen or it might get stuck on the blue screen "starting windows" or it might tell me that the computer has had a problem and it needs me to decide how to boot it up. It will not go past these two screens in any mode I booted and I dont have the CD to repair it. My computer does have the software to reapir itself but it wont boot up becuase it asks me for an Administrator password and it wont take my. ANY HELP PLEASE!!! Im a college student and cant really buy a new one right now. Thanks in advance for any help.

MAIN REASON XP blue screens tend to happen because of driver problems, and when using older versions of applications with the latest Service Pack. The last, once again, underlines the importance of either keeping everything up to date or leaving everything well alone.

it rare to get the blue screen of death in XP

Blue Screen Of Death can still put in an occasional appearance with Windows XP, It signal a non-recoverable condition, and that you've lost all data that hasn't yet been saved. This blue screen is still one of the most frustrating aspects of Windows use, since there's absolutely nothing you can do about it except reboot your PC and start again.

ANOTHER WAY....out i know off is reinsatall the OS xp Format the Drive and reinstall the os men....that wat i would do sice you dont have the cd i guess you can try to download it off a network or something....yea youd need the xp CD...from my knowledge.... you usually get this short of thing is the windows 9x versions XP VERY RARE...
