The information that appears on the screen is : windows can not find ''scvshost.exe'' file can not be found. The system takes rather a long time to startup. I have run windows repair, but the problem is not fixed yet. I do not know what to do. Please advise! Dabuna

Your system has been infected with a malware that has deleted critical files. Nothing you can do will save it. Sorry, it's time for a new install.

First you need to rescue your files. Download and burn http://www.pclinuxos.com/ . Boot from it, if you have only one optical unit run the OS from memory and remove the disk, Start%26gt; Utilities%26gt; Archiving%26gt; K3b = the burner program and back up all your files( copy them to a dvd+r). Attention, malware files end with .exe or another weird extention, be carefull at what you save. Then open Computer Management%26gt; Hardware%26gt; pick the hard disk and delete all partitions.

Second comes the fresh installation of the OS: if you liked PCLinuxOS double click on Install; don't forget that you are far more secure in Linux. If not restart the pc, insert WinXP disk and do a fresh install.

Click "New Process"

Type "scvshost.exe"

I am currently facing the same problem with my computer. I have learned that this due to a massive virus which cannot be removed. The only other way is to reboot your system and install Windows again.
