Its not clear what you are trying to "repair" but you could try removing internet explorer by going to add/remove programs (control panel) then clicking on the add remove windows components and removing internet explorer. Then using windows update get back to the latest stable version.

However before doing that download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/ so that you have a working browser while you try to fix your problem.

Or they will not bother you again. One way or another you wont have any problems what so ever from your pc. Then after you restart your IE back to normal.
Go to microsoft.com and download the new IE7 release candidate or download firefox. Both are significantly superior to IE6.
